    L. Ciuffo Studios was established in San Diego, California in 1975 making and repairing fine furniture. Master craftsman, Lawrence G. Ciuffo is a third generation Italian craftsman who has specialized in fine furniture and antique restoration. Mr. Ciuffo uses only old world techniques and accumulated knowledge of antique periods to restore antiques. Veneers are selected to replace those damaged, carvings are handmade out of matching woods, even old brass and bronze is recast to match existing hardware and old mirrors re-silvered.

    All finishes are matched to the original period in which each item was made. 18th, 19th and early 20th century finishes are our specialty. All finishes are hand rubbed to match the original luster of each piece.

    Mr. Ciuffo is well known for his knowledge of fine wood finishes and consults regularly to assist others in the field of finishing to solve problems and design formulas for fine wood finishing applications.
